Screen Doors have been a staple product of The Porch Company for over 35 years. Over those years, we have perfected our doors, added designs, and even established a separate company and ECommerce store (The Porch Store) to sell these doors and more across the U.S.
There are several things that make our screen doors different form doors you would buy at a big box store. One of those differences is that our doors are held together not by screws, but by using double mortise and spline joinery. Secondly, our doors have 4 ¾” stiles, whereas most screen doors will have maybe a 4” stile. Another huge factor in what makes our doors stick around a lot longer is the thickness. Our doors are 1 ¾” thick of solid Sapele Mahogany, whereas most doors you can purchase are typically ¾” to 1″. And finally, all horizontal rails on our doors have a 15 degree bevel that sheds water to prevent further damage from water pooling. With all of these factors, we are confident that we can produce a door that is not only beautiful, but will last a long time.
